In the near future we may be in a battle to keep our right to trap. Trap Free Oregon would like to stop all trapping for fur and make it difficult to protect farms, land and livestock. One thing I find strange about this is they do not want to stop trapping of rodents like gophers, mice, rats and moles. So as long as the trouble causer is in their yard or house it is OK to kill them. Trap Free Oregon always say how evil the body grip traps are and they should not be used. But most all traps used for rodents are body grip traps, why are they OK but others are not? I guess because these traps are used to protect their property but a farmer loosing income should not have those rights.
In my opinion if you trap the animals for either protection of property or to manage them why not use what you can fur, meat bones all can be used and should not be wasted. Trap Free Oregon or other anti trapping organizations would prefer to stop the use of these items and waste the animals. Any of these people who eat meat kill they just have some one else do it for them. Even a vegetarian who buy vegetables how many animals were displaced by the farms that they buy from. If an animal destroys the crops on one of those farms or even in an anti trappers own garden what do you think will happen next. I wonder if while they are pointing at us and say we are terrible people they know they are doing the same thing they just don’t do it them selves.
So if you do not trap at least consider the good it does and support trapping in Oregon if it come up for a vote.
